Dieser Newsletter wird kuratiert von Willi Leinen und Stefan Degel.Wir haben beide klassische Gitarre studiert. Wir lieben das Instrument. Wir spielen selbst mit unserem Duo TMBM Konzerte, nehmen eigene Kompositionen auf, geben Workshops und versuchen diesem wunderbaren Instrument mehr Aufmerksamkeit zukommen zu lassen. Nicht zuletzt beschäftigen wir uns immer wieder mit der Arbeit anderer Musiker*innen und begeistern uns für tolle Musik, Spieltechniken und alle Aspekte rund um die klassische Gitarre. Und: Wir lieben den Austausch über das Instrument.Und so ist die Idee für diesen Newsletter entstanden. In verschiedenen Rubriken – vom Youtube-Fund der Woche über besondere Notenausgaben bis zum Album der Woche – möchten wir von nun an alle zwei Wochen Themen und Musik mit euch teilen, die uns inspirieren und so hoffentlich Spannendes, Unterhaltsames und Neues hinzufügen zur liebsten Leidenschaft von uns allen: Der klassischen Gitarre.Willi Leinen studierte an der Hochschule für Musik „Hanns Eisler“ in Berlin und schloss sein Studium bei David Tanenbaum am San Francisco Conservatory of Music ab. Leinen schreibt und veröffentlicht Werke für Solo Gitarre via Edition Margaux, war Stipendiat von Yehudi Menuhin für das Projekt “Live Music Now Berlin”, hat zuletzt Werke von Alexander Liebermann bei den Berliner Dialougues zur Uraufführung gebracht, sorgte mit seine Schubert Lied Arrangements für zwei E- Gitarren und Gesang für Aufsehen und engagiert sich vielfältig für das Thema klassische Gitarre.Stefan Degel studierte an der Hochschule für Musik „Hanns Eisler“ in Berlin und absolvierte danach ein Masterstudium an der HfM Carl Maria von Weber Dresden. Degel spielte bereits in unzähligen Formationen von Indie Band bis Orchester, so u.a. mit den Jenaer Philharmonikern, dem Konzerthausorchester Berlin oder der Deutschen Oper Berlin. Mit TMBM verbindet er zwei Leidenschaften: Klassische Komposition und Spielqualität mit Songwriting und den Strukturen von Pop.

This newsletter is curated by Willi Leinen & Stefan Degel.We both have degrees in classical guitar. We love the instrument, and with our duo, TMBM, we play concerts, record our own compositions, conduct workshops, and strive to bring more attention to this wonderful instrument. Moreover, we continually engage with the work of other musicians, finding inspiration in great music, playing techniques, and all aspects related to the classical guitar. And, we love chatting about the instrument.That’s what gave us the idea for this newsletter. In various sections – from the YouTube Find of the Week to special sheet music editions to the Album of the Week – we want to share topics and music with you every other week that inspire us, hopefully adding some exciting, fun, and new input to our shared favorite passion: the classical guitar.We would be happy if you joined us on this journey.
Willi Leinen studied at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music in Berlin and completed his studies with David Tanenbaum at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Leinen writes and publishes works for solo guitar with Edition Margaux, was a Yehudi Menuhin scholarship holder for the "Live Music Now Berlin" project, most recently premiered works by Alexander Liebermann at the "Berlin Dialougues" and is actively involved in many ways in the field of new classical guitar.Stefan Degel studied at the Hochschule für Musik "Hanns Eisler" in Berlin, which he successfully completed in 2017. In 2021 he finished his master studies at HfM Carl Maria von Weber Dresden . Degel has already played in countless formations ranging from indie bands to orchestras, including works with Jenaer Philharmoniker, Konzerthausorchester Berlin and Deutsche Oper Berlin. With TMBM, he combines two passions: classical composition and playing quality with songwriting and the structures of pop.
